At Home in Woodforest’s Pine Island

First residents in development are settling into golf course lifestyle.

(Montgomery, Texas – March 29, 2018) After 20 years of living in Kingwood, the Beattes were ready for a change. They just weren’t sure where they wanted to go next — at first.

Steve thought that being close to work would be best, and he and his wife Susan focused their search in Spring, Tomball and the Cypress area. Then, the couple discovered Pine Island in master-planned Woodforest, and decided to expand their search.

“Our real estate agent lives in Woodforest, and she told us that there was a new development about to open there,” Steve said. The couple went to Woodforest for a visit, and it was love at first sight. “We both liked the view of the golf course and the security gate,” Steve said. The neighborhood had a comfortable feel to it. “Pine Island is a smaller development,” Steve said. “It’s gated, protected. You just feel like you’re away from the hustle and bustle.”

Both Steve and Susan are avid golfers, as well. They joined the Woodforest Golf Club right away and sold their house in Kingwood. Picking the first lot in Pine Island had its perks. “We have the best view in the neighborhood,” Steve said.

The Beattes leased a house in Woodforest while they began construction on their new custom home. “We got to know the neighborhood and really love it out here,” Susan said. The next order of business was selecting a builder. The couple was impressed with each builder and eventually settled on TIPLER Luxury Homes. “We liked their process,” Steve said. “They were very knowledgeable. Just talking through the project with them felt right.”

This would be the first time for the Beattes to have a completely custom home, built exactly the way they wanted. “We got to choose everything — the colors, the tile, the wood floors, all before construction even started,” Susan said. “We designed the house just for us, and for when our grandkids come to visit.”

When decision-making became overwhelming, Micah Tipler was readily available to assist. She manages a team of 15 designers for the company and is a renowned interior designer herself. “They came in and helped us with our window coverings, our furniture, our pictures,” Susan said. “They had great ideas, and now our house looks really nice.”

The 6,750-square-foot modern Mediterranean house is built on a lot just under an acre, which fits into the grand scale of the neighborhood. Pine Island is a walkable enclave of tree lined-boulevards, picturesque gardens and elegant architecture. The Beattes said they feel tucked away into a beautiful, secluded area — while still being close to everything. “We have a lot of amenities here,” Steve said. “There’s the golf course and you’re only 10 minutes to Lake Conroe or 10 minutes away from The Woodlands.”

The couple has already made friends at Woodforest Golf Club and are looking forward to welcoming new neighbors to Pine Island in the coming year. Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Woodforest, said the development is a popular choice for families wanting to be close to The Woodlands or Conroe. Pine Island includes several sections of executive homes and custom homes, and architectural guidelines emphasize Colonial, European romantic and turn-of-the-century Charleston style architecture. Porches and balconies are prominent features.

The first 20 properties released are in the Estate District of Pine Island, which offers mainly half-acre homesites, several of which border Woodforest Golf Club. The neighborhood’s 130-foot properties and several 110-foot homesites will feature front-access garages, while other 110-foot properties will face Pine Island’s central boulevard and will be served by rear alleyways. The master plan for Pine Island highlights the natural beauty of the area, with formal gardens, manicured lawns, playgrounds and other neighborhood gathering spots a short walk from each property.

“Pine Island feels like a getaway to an old-fashioned neighborhood, with tree-lined streets, picturesque homes and neighbors chatting on the green,” Yoakum said. “This VIP development is one of a kind.”

Fast-selling Woodforest offers a multitude of lifestyle choices from the $200,000s to the millions. The development has been the No. 1 selling community in Montgomery County since 2012. For more information, visit www.LiveatPineIsland.com.
